‘Must-stop’ for ice Kacang

Kow Po Coffee Shop

Was in Bentong over the weekend, had ice kacang on the way in, again on the way out, the next day.

The ice kacang may look ordinary, but the taste is just right. Not too sweet or over creamy, the usual ingredients (plus cendol, pineapple) and very fresh. Best of all, it’s served without syrup.

I topped mine with chocolate ice – cream, though other homemade varieties include banana, corn, pandan, peanut and durian (when in season).

At RM4.50 per bowl, it is not cheap, but delivers on freshness and taste. A scoop of ice cream starts at RM3.50. Kow Po also serves cendol, shakes, fruit juices.

The coffee shop is clean, and even when it’s crowded, you don’t have to wait long to get a table. Most people eat and go.

Even if you are just passing through, make sure you stop for Ice kacang here. On a hot day, the ice kacang is the perfect way to cool down.
